Today on the first SpongeBob review episode, we're taking a look on yesterday's new SpongeBob besides the episode that premiered after it, "Squid's on a Bus" (you know, the episode that premiere overseas before premiering here in the U.S.!) But I'm not reviewing that episode right now. READ THE POST TITLE!!!
Before we begin, I'll tell you the structure of how I'm going to do these types of posts. I'm going to start by checking out who wrote the episode (a la Mr. Enter). Then, I'll explain the episode's plot. In between, I'll explain the flaws and other stuff in the episode. Then, I'll rate the episode. You get the idea! This is just like Mr. Enter's Animated Atrocities and Admirable Animation series. This is inspired by them. So let's begin... Wait! Also...
SPOILERS AHEAD!!!
You know, it's great to see a new episode that takes place at Goofy Goober's after the first SpongeBob movie. The episode 'Patnocchio' had a scene taking place at Goofy Goober's. And now, I must point out that Kaz wrote the episode. I also like to point out that he also wrote 'Ink Lemonade', the worst Season 11 episode. Anyway, on with the episode!
The episode begins at Goofy Goober's, where Patrick is trying lots of free samples of the ice cream. Apparently, Squidina from the episode 'Goons on the Moon' works at Goofy Goober's. Patrick then gets kicked out of the restaurant. While laying there, a couple of Goofy Goober employees sit on Patrick while eating ice cream. They point out that they always get free ice cream during their first break, lunch break, and second break. I wish I worked there...
Patrick, surprised about the fact that employees eat ice cream during their breaks, decides to get a job there himself. He's shown a training video that explains how Goofy Goober's was founded. After the training video, he's tasked to clean the dishes. A few minutes later, the manager checks up on him. The dishes are already clean. Patrick explains how he cleaned the dishes: by putting the dirty dishes in his mouth and licking the dirty spots off them. Gross.
Next, the manager tasks him by storing containers of ice cream into the freezer. One hour later, the manager checks up on him. Apparently, Patrick put the ice cream containers in the cold freezer and set up a fire in it. Kaz, you do realize that they're underwater right? Fire doesn't work underwater. Just a little pet peeve. This causes the ice cream to melt and flood the restaurant.
Some time later, he is tasked to wear a Goofy Goober mascot to entertain the children. The children climb onto the costume and start to make Patrick uncomfortable, so he gets them off of him. A little kid throws a big scoop of ice cream and that gets the kids to run after it. This gives Patrick the opportunity to eat the unattended ice cream. This also gets the manager to give Patrick the rest of the day off and gives him a warning. He goes to SpongeBob at his rock. SpongeBob decides to help Patrick out on his job by hiding in the suit and becomes Patrick's hands so he can impress the manager.
This becomes a success the next day. Patrick finally gets his first ice cream break. He eats up all the ice cream in the restaurant. He then gets a huge brain freeze which freezes up the entire Earth. 'Five billion years later', the ice melts off the Earth. Kaz, how is it possible for ice to melt off of Earth. The Earth is surrounded by space. You're an idiot. This, of course, gets Patrick fired. Patrick then leaves in a banana split UFO???? Uh, I don't get it... And that's how the episode ends. Okay then...
For now, I'll consider this a decent episode. This episode may have its duds, but overall, it's still a good episode to watch. If anyone hasn't watched this episode, go watch it whenever the episode reruns on Nickelodeon.
So I'm going to keep reviewing SpongeBob episodes. Next time, I'm going to review an older episode. No, not a pre-movie episode! That's for another time. But let's say one from either seasons 6-8. See ya guys for episode 2 of M-Pack SpongeBob Reviews!
