My Words on John Kricfalusi's Sexual Harassment

WARNING: THE FOLLOWING BLOG POST MAY CONTAIN SOME DISTURBING AND SEXUAL CONTENT, AS WELL AS LANGUAGE! IF YOU'RE UNDER 15 YEARS OLD, THEN IGNORE THIS POST! YOU...HAVE..BEEN...WARNED!

Nearly a year ago, I told you folks about John Kricfalusi, who is famous for creating characters such as Ren, Stimpy, George Liquor [American], Jimmy the Idiot Boy, and more, and how he inspired me to create cartoons, as well as Stephen Hillenburg (creator of SpongeBob), Chris Savino (creator of the Loud House), and Butch Hartman (creator of Fairly Odd Parents, Danny Phantom, TUFF Puppy, and Bunsen is a Beast).

John K's been a big influence for months. This was around the time Harvey Weinstein was accused of sexually assaulting women, thus starting this so-called "Weinstein Effect", where most male celebrities get accused of sexually harassing, raping, or assaulting women. This might've started the #metoo movement. Chris Savino (mentioned earlier in this post) was accused of sexually harassing dozens of women, causing Nickelodeon to fire him, and The Animation Guild, IATSE Local 839 to suspend him for a year. I think Dan Schneider (creator of many Nickelodeon sitcoms which would take me longer to list) left Nickelodeon this year because of sexually harassing and abusing women at the studio. This is what I think Schneider did, because I read articles about it online.

And now, I'm going to fast forward to March of this year, and talk about Kricfalusi. Back in 1997, animator Robyn Byrd, who was 16 at the time, was in a sexual relationship with John K, and they moved to California when she turned 17. She said that John was helping her with a job as animator at his studio, Spumco. This was after getting the job there. But before that, in 1994, she sent a video to John of herself talking about her drawings and how she wants to join the animation industry like him. He liked it and sent her back Spumco merchandise. Once on a trip at the trailer park, explained by Byrd, in a room with a sliding glass door that led to his pool, he touched her private parts through her pajamas, which shocked her. How scary! His sexual harassment allegations, back then, was still a secret kept by John and Robyn. A few years later, she reunited with her old friend on the Internet, an artist named Katie Rice. They met because John has heard about both Robyn and Katie, and their artist talents that got them hired to work at Spumco. Once Katie started working there, she said she was persistently being sexually harassed by him. Also, John was also accused of child porn. After the time that the allegations were out in the public, John posted a multi-paged apology, in which both Byrd and Rice called it an 'non-apology' and they didn't accept it.

Now, let's get to what I think about his allegations (THIS IS MY OPINION, GUYS!!!):
Even though Byrd and Rice say that John Kricfalusi is a terrible person, his art style is still a good influence. Let's just say that I like him 95% and hate him 5%. I accept his apology even though everyone thinks he's a bad person.

Even though it was all over the news in March of this year, I decided that this would be a perfect time to discuss this.....at night time! See ya guys!
